Bernie believes the means of production should reside with the workers and not the government.

So he's not a commie.

I could be wrong (if so Skinned or Nathan will correct me), but who owns the means of production is different amongst communist factions.

For example, marxists believe the means of production should reside with the workers and nobody else.

Leninists believe that a communist political party is necessary to oversee the means of production, as the proletariat need some form of guidance in the complicated running of the economy. You could say this was a more 'moderate' and 'realistic' approach to marx's communist theory, though some would disagree I'm sure.

So you could still be a communist and believe the means of production should reside with the government, technically speaking.

I'm pretty sure Wikileaks is acting as a front for Russia to weaken our influence in the area.

If Trump wins, they will likely target him, but my guess is they have a LOT more info to tear down Hillary.

This has never existed in the entirety of human history.

In order to make it happen you always need an authoritarian state to enforce it by gunpoint.

It is obvious you don't know anything about Bernie Sanders's career of accomplishments, including strategic goals set for this election.

Marx was a theorist and his work can be divided into the Humanistic half and the Material Dialectic half. To me it all kind of blends together. But he doesn't start off with Communism and say why it is right, he just described history and explains why it is inevitable through several works, especially The German Ideology, Kapital, and the beautiful Manifesto of the Communist Party.

Lenin was a different animal, and was more a man of action than a sound theorist. He assumed control of a country that had more or less collapsed with the exception of a class of Oblomovs related to the Tsar. Things were so bad in Russia in the 50 years before the revolution that anarchic nihilism was very much a prevailing ideology as the Russian monarchy systemically stole all the citizens possessions and food and used it to fuel dynastic wars with their cousins from across Europe. By the time the revolution happened there was nothing left and a merciless Tsar who was against any sort of modern rights or system, instead he doubled down on feudalism after his father was killed the day he announced reforms toward a representational government. Lenin was fighting a war, and once the Bolsheviks took over, was under constant attack from internal enemies and foreign powers seeking to conquer the land and put someone from their family back in charge as part of God's divine will. Because of all of this Lenin created the idea of a Revolutionary Vanguard, a group of elites, to push the revolution to its completion, which is the dissolution of state at the end of history as there is only one class of people. It is the end of history (teleological goal of social advancement is a Marxist idea) because all history is the history of class conflict in one shape for another, over who controls the means of production. Once the means of production are controlled by a single class there will be no more conflict and no more history.

The difference between what Marx proposed and what Lenin executed is that Lenin was working within a means of production within the agrarian paradigm while Marx proposed the revolution in a society where the capitalist advanced the means of production to a desirable state, so that after the production systems become rational, the distribution systems become rational. The production has to be there first. So far Marx hasn't been wrong, because his description of capitalism is playing out like he described.

The whole End of History thing was influenced a lot by Hegel. The most important ideas of Marxist ideology to me is False Consciousness. So many people pretend to be something they aren't....I think Marx is 100% right that we are all individual animals living on the Earth together and all other distinctions pale in importance to that one similarity.

It is in Russia's interest to have a weak America, which is why they are attacking HRC.

Marx said it would happen at the end if history. It is explained in detail in this post :)

Very interesting, thank you for that. I've never really read into communist theory in detail. Would you describe yourself as a communist? If so, what faction (if there is one)?
