I don't think this is intentional. The European mind is twisted with guilt and self-loathing. Multiculturalism is a cult that prizes the "other" to the detriment of the West. The particularity of Western culture must give way to the particularities of third world nations. The European left would rather cede ground on women's rights than position themselves against the backwards prejudices of the third world.

Yes, it's not a very controversial fact that the Middle Eastern and African nations from which these refugees come have views towards women considered unacceptable in the West.

Critics accused head teacher Martin Thalhammer of imposing Islamic standards of behavior on his students after he sent a letter to parents informing them about the refugeees that were to be housed in the school gym.
"Because our school is in the immediate vicinity, restrained clothing should be worn to avoid confrontations" with the mostly young, male, Muslim asylum-seekers, he wrote.
"See-through tops or blouses, short-shorts or miniskirts could lead to misunderstandings," the letter stated.
A teacher asking his class to not wear clothing that is banned from most schools as/per dress codes anyway doesn't really equate to this statement. The European left would rather cede ground on women's rights than position themselves against the backwards prejudices of the third world.
