Most of the best Bible translations are extremely similar.

The NASB and ESV are generally considered some of the most literally accurate.

[QUOTE=Morphmcmanerson,13 Oct 2014 12:45]Which one of these versions of 'God's truth' should he use to look into those passages?
Which ones are rubbish?

Well the one that backs up his version of the truth of course

... this presents an interesting area of discussion that is rarely broached here ( or anywhere for that matter ) - what is the Kingdom ? I know far more Scripture than anyone on this forum so I'd like ti hear an answer from you in your own words and not incorrectly applied citations .

"If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe,
if I tell you of heavenly things?"

"the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him:
neither can he know them,
because they are spiritually discerned."

"A fool takes no pleasure in understanding, but only in expressing his opinion."

"To understand a proverb, and the interpretation; the words of the wise, and

their dark sayings. The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge:
but fools despise wisdom and instruction."

so if the son kills someone, sentenced to life. let the father go instead
it encourages people to shrug off their responsibilities

Oh that's right, you humans like to take an example and naturally go to the very extreme and then ask the very same question.

You like to twist the truth a little bit and make it suit your own needs. You humans are all the same in that regard.

So I'll ask you what you think should happen if a man kills another person? Now when I say I'm asking you I mean I'm asking YOU. I'm not asking somebody else to answer for you, I'm not asking what I believe should happen.

I'm asking you, Mutant, what you think should happen in that situation.

So in your own thoughts you think that Jesus should go to prison when a man kills another person.

if he died for my sins may as well go to prison for my crimes
seems like prison is less severe so im probably doing a favor
