Is this the thread where a youtube clip is considered a meaningful Original Post?

This is another youtube ballistics analysis thread.

Don't barge in here with your distracting comments, these geniuses are doing science for gods sake!

A .38 isn't a cap gun.

Well i was just pointing out the fact that this gun only really scared them and he was lucky that they ran away.

I think a lot of criminals might use guns, but its really hard to shoot someone, and he was very lucky they weren't killers.

Also i think a lot of gun supporters could watch this video and think that armed people are the answer to gun violence

and i just wanted to say that armed guards aren't really effective - unless they had an armed guard in every room

and I’ve heard a lot of stories about Convenience store clerks that try to grab a gun and wind up getting shot in retaliation.

My friend worked at a gas station and was robbed at gunpoint and the guy got away with 40$ , would it have been worth it to risk his life and try to fight back for 40$.

A lot of these guys are so doped up and just looking for more drug money and are not thinking rational.

No it didn't only really scare them, it put one in the hospital, he had to be air lifted to said hospital, the other lucked out with a graze to the arm. You think a .38 in the hip and one in the ass "only scared" him? it nearly killed him. It wasn't luck that they ran away, it was luck that the guy with the bullet in his hip was able to get back up after his legs gave out on him, it was luck that he didn't die from blood loss at the house they fled to. They had a baseball bat and a gun between them.

And who has the higher chance of being accurate? The 71 year old man running and shooting one handed?
Or the police officer trained to do so?

Call me crazy but I'd have been half scared of the old man as well.

(Note since I know you'll try and figure something else out about me from my post that is completely false I will go ahead and say I don't believe anything I've said. I fully support the old guy and am glad he was there)

Say, I'm sure glad they're the well-trained people protecting us! They clearly performed better than any civilian could have ever hoped!

Its fairly ignorant to say "i would trust a cop over a civilian any day" when it comes to accuracy. There are cops who are bad shots and there are world class competitive shooters who carry daily. Its this type of generalizing that makes for a poor argument.
Guns in the hands of responsible are what we need to preserve.

World class competitive shooters score no more accurately in high stress situations with moving targets than your average person.
