The other biggie not really related to doge but does provide some oversight is attempting to rid the two democratic FTC commissioners via firing them.
They have active cases against Amazon, X, Meta etc. Guess which companies are latched to Donald's tits right now. I'm pro capitalism but acknowledge we do need guardrails for both consumer, investor and most importantly in my opinion worker protection.
So don't love that.
Things like education. If a hammer is better than a scalpel so be it. I'll wait and judge by results. Clearly the education department is having issues and maybe the hammer and a rebuild is the best way. I don't know let's see what the results are.
agreed, the dept of ed stuff doesnt worry me, and my wife is a public school teacher.
state sends money to fed, fed red tapes it, sends back to states. $$$ lost in transmission. its a system that benefits low economy states because they get back more than they send in. if that proves needed, and it will, its better to target it with specific grants case by case imo.
Spectrum is one of the biggest scumbags ever when it comes to this. I used to live in an area where i can only get Spectrum and they kept raising my internet bill, seemingly every 6 months, bill fucking doubles in like 2 years. I call them to complain why I'm paying more than someone that would just sign onto the service even though i've been a client for 10 years and they basically tell me tough luck you have no other option.
Fast forward today i live in an area where both Spectrum and Verizon compete. I have Verizon Fios now and Spectrum is constantly spamming me with deals which are way lower than what i used to pay when i was stuck in their monopolized region. Scumbag tactics like these is why i will never get Spectrum again. Good job, you made an extra 20 bucks per month but lost a customer for life retards.
yup i was so happy to get rid of that junk when i moved to the country. had to live with 10mbps phone jack internet for 6 years, but it wasnt terrible. and now we have 150mbps verizon 5g internet for 45$/month or so.
