Congress approved one of the biggest and uncontrolled giveaways of all time. They didn't approve the other one.

I definitely agree that the young people have been screwed over - pressured & lied to to go to college when it was not right for them, on top of the universities colluding with the government to drive up tuition & other expenses to ridiculous levels, paying grad students shit at the same time

I've often said that the universities today are the #1 corrupt institution plaguing the West - it is them who is responsible for the Woke crisis, climate fearmongering, neo-Marxism, along with every other subversion tactic plaguing our great civilization. It is them who should be paying off the debt, not the taxpayer. I wouldn't be opposed to some student loan forgiveness if it came from the pockets of the universities

There's also the fact that it has been the left wing intelligentsia who have pushed going to college as the only option for kids over recent decades - the right has always been in favour of the trades.
