My 400 person town had two in 2 years.

More if you count the areas that weren't in any towns borders.

Life is too short to live in some high density shithole if you have the option to live elsewhere. Rural crime obviously still exists but again its typically between those that are involved in unsavoury activities, few innocent people caught in the crossfire in rural incidents I find. Its not a drive by shooting spying bullets everywhere, its an intentional go after one person in their home incident usually. There's no worry walking the streets if you're not involved in those things, I cant say the same about cities.

This sentence would indicate you've never been to a city in your life, and only know about them through right wing media articles.

I spent all my university years in a city. There is absolutely many areas I have no interest walking around at night, just like every other sane individual that lived there. Would I give the same consideration to the majority of small towns I've been in my life, no, not for a second.

Weird take when all the news in America is centered around sooner murders that happened in rural America.

This said, dense people are not necessarily in high density areas.

I almost never watch American news. Read Reuters, CBC, and small outlets that do localized news and i've lived in both. I can confidently say I will never live in a city ever again in my lifetime.
