Both sides are way to far off in they're prospective directions, but this left shit is going too far. It's communism and the woke movement thinks it's awesome. Communism is bad news. Look at the chinese cultural revolution. It was a shit show dumpster fire and still is basically.

  • If you add up the volume of all the spending bills he did pass and tried to pass in 2021, you arrive at something like $4-5 trillion. That's quite reckless policy and to the political left, even if the squaddies around AOC wanted $8 trillion.
  • A US president signing up for climate reparations is a really radical policy.
  • Actively doing nothing while 2-4 million illegals pour across the southern border in under two years is rather radical too.
  • Holding a big speech in which he labels some 25% of the electorate and Congress as fascists and enemies of democracy is quite a bold move.
  • Seeing the country (and the world) suffer from the highest inflation in 50 years, driven by a global squeeze in the oil and gas markets, without doing everything in his power to get the domestic production up asap could also be considered radical.
  • Explicitly giving preferential treatment to certain races when making key judicial or cabinet nominations is radical if you ask me.
  • And last but not least, sticking with vaccine mandates long after it had been shown that they do not meaningfully curb the spread of the recent variants is a radical lefty policy too.

And I'm sure I forgot several points. The tldr is that I really don't think that Biden has governed very moderately, not at all. But hey, relative to the fundamentals, the midterms were a huge win for Biden and essentially confirmed his course, so that's what the American electorate signed up for. Enjoy the shitshow.

i just think you're being too literal. my point was that a president who's appointing literal gender fluid cross dressers would be assumed to be right in line with the AOC wing of the party, when in reality he's decently far to the right of their aims. even if he's not center or to the right of center. he's appeasing them with appointments more than policy, even if policy he does pass isn't a red flag for them.

if you think the "left" in this country is communist then you have absolutely no understanding of history or the English language . conservatives LOVE to be scared and use scary words to describe things they dont like. the more inaccurate and insane the better to spread fear among the other hogs

Well, yes, sure, Biden is giving the far-left some sugar with symbolic actions while ignoring or significantly watering down their policy proposals. It's just that even these symbolic actions have tangible effects further down the road.

Normalizing stuff like "anyone but black women don't even need to apply for my SCOTUS pick/VP slot" is undermining meritocracy. Stuff like climate reparations might seem symbolic now, but will put significant pressure on future administrations. Suggesting $3 trillion spending bills, secretly hoping they get watered down in Congress instead of publicly shutting them down right away, normalizes these kinds of spending sprees. Essentially labeling a significant share of the entire country as enemies of the state sets a really dangerous precedent. And so on and forth.

tokenizing minorities doesn't meaningfully undermine meritocracy. it happens all of the time. and the next potus will swing the pendulum back and appoint the whitest ivy league born rich people they can find. even stevens.

as to the depending on congress to water down proposals that's just modern politics. POTUS signals in campaign that the times they are a changin. then they toss out a few pipe dreams, and they get watered down. this was trump's wall, this was trump's promise to fix insurance, fix corruption, etc. Barack did the same. meanwhile they operate unilaterally under executive orders.

the scotus specifically has been not a meritocracy in pure form for a while. do you hate abortion but agree to say in public you dont? good, you're in. i dont hate any of trumps appts too badly, but lets not pretend they were literally the most qualified person in the nation.
