Interestingly that is likely what triggered the rival crypto exchange owner to claim FTX was insolvent and started a run on selling FTX positions.
Not sure what favorable treatment they could get compared to say Binance that would trigger that. unless somehow FTT would be classified as a totally separate type of asset than BNB.
but for CZ the motive is simple, smell blood and kill FTX and business runs your way. afaik Fried and CZ had a mild but ongoing back and forth twitter feud of sorts.
fried's lobbying activity, afaik, was going to be to get the fed to continue fairly hands off, something that would have benefited both FTX and Binance.
