imho there's plenty of middle ground that the american public agrees on, but it ranges from a lot of hard work to stuff that impacts them, so they pretend that trans bathrooms, jan 6th, and other fringe polarized issues are the future of america as an excuse.

veterans issues, regulating large finance markets on issues like massively shorting, actual effective infrastructure, etc.

Even if you two believe that, you should still be against the republican elected officials wasting the time and money of the public while they collect a government paycheck. They do actually have jobs they could be doing and there are promises they made to the people who voted for them that they will not be keeping by going this route.

regardless of whether you are democrat or republican it should not be lost on anyone that the concept, or destination of travel, from a moderate stand point to what exists today, in terms of deep mistrust of the other party, refusal to be civil, seeing the 1/2 the country as your enemy, is the brain child of Mitch McConnell. from a neutral standpoint its quite sad. America is not meant to be so split, yet the split grows worse by the year, such is that man's legacy.
