It's slave labour, and America makes extensive use of it. America never abolished slavery, it just crime-washed it.

No one cares. No one cared about the WNBA before, no one cares about it or its players now. Even in this clear Russian sending a message situation, still no one cares.

I looked up the 13th and it said except as a punishment for a crime. And these inmates have indeed committed crimes. They need to repay their debts to society. It is perfectly acceptable to make them do work without pay. They are already being paid in a way: they get free housing, free food, health care...etc. And they don't deserve any of this. They are criminals who have broken the laws and possibly harmed others. They should be grateful we don't inflict something cruel and unusual on them.
