What we're seeing here isn't compassionate end of life care but rather the funneling of poor people into coerced suicide.
MAiD was portrayed as a way to help people with terminal illnesses see a dignified death, before their illnesses turned them into barely conscious 'shit, piss and pain machines'.
What happened instead, obviously for anyone with an anti-capitalist critique of political economy, is that it's being used to coerce people into killing themselves in order to limit social expenditures on health care.
In a more perfect society this policy would be good. In our broken society that is ruled by business owners and financial elites, it's a eugenicist policy to minimize the cost of appeasement to the working class.
