Adding school security does not work. Remember Uvalde? Where there were police around and he still ran in and killed a bunch of kids? And all the evidence that police are far more hostile to minority students. And all the evidence that it reduces educational attainment.

The easy solution is actually "just put police there", but we know for a fact it doesn't work. Meanwhile we have entire countries removing guns to solve mass shootings.

You ever been on an airplane or go to a major pro sports game?

They have security and it works.

Actually in all test cases the TSA is an abject failure at detecting threats.

The number of test bombs that slip by them is absolutely laughable.

Because in the US we don't guard the schools well even though they have a custodial duty. Local courthouse has more security than a school for example. Heard once that accountants place 10MIL value on each human, so it's crazy that all that value in a school goes unprotected yet other government buildings have armed guards at entrances. Blame guns tho, that is an easy hot take. And vote to eliminate cops and teachers on school staff for more administrators to focus on counciling or some shit.

how many armed guards do you think german schools have? how about french, british, spanish, japanese, australian, belgian, italian, dutch, swedish, canadian, polish schools? how well are they "guarded", and how many school shootings to they have each year? guns being the main reason is not a "hot take", it's obvious to anyone who isn't completely brainwashed or stupid...

You mean the fact that these things are usually set up or "allowed" to happen so they can get people to say: "Please take our guns"?
I completely agree.

BTW, what is your opinion on how to fix this issue again?

This was hashed out in a prior thread, but there are as many or more anecdotes where having armed security at a school prevented the shooting or prevented the shooting from going mass casualty. In Florida, it was the security guard who abandoned his post, duties, and the children. In Uvalde, the building was not secure, door left open, police scared and inept.

I agree school shootings are a problem and a concern. The tools we have as US citizens don't allow taking guns from law abiding citizens though. Maybe liberals can get it that way someday, but we are years from that. What we CAN do is sensible action such as guarding a schools, locking doors, etc.

Would you rather risk kids lives for decades as liberals chase an unattainable solution to a real problem? Or put into play a response that WILL reduce the problem immediately while we await liberals perfect solution

Beautiful ad hom Fender! Love it.

Best to apply a solution that fits the system it needs to operate in not a poorly fit analogous one. Solutions goal being to reduce school shootings.

There have been 202 homicides by firearm in St. Louis this year.

This is literally 1% of firearm deaths in one of the most dangerous cities in the United States.

has not said one single thing about this until conveniently some gangbanger shot a couple people at his former school.

It is extremely convenient for gun grabbers to point out when a shooting happens in a school/mall/macy’s what have you, but they are totally fine with gangs shooting it out among each other.

545 murders so far this year in Chicago. Where you at ? Is it because in Chicago the gangbangers drop out before shooting the school up?

There have been about 300 in Houston, a city where it is legal to carry your 9 in your holster walking down the sidewalk and into Walmart.

It's only unattainable as long as our society values guns more than children. Maybe I'm just giving conservatives too much credit again, thinking they give a shot about dead kids. Then again I've never been wrong by assuming conservatives are evil and stupid.

Lol'd

Gun value is enshrined in our bill of rights. Regardless of how you or I feel about it, it's a monumental undertaking to amend that....

What is the liberal solution in the meantime? Defund the police and take defensive tools away from law abiding citizens? Surely that will tally less dead kids....

One child is worth more than all the guns in the world.
