Adding school security does not work. Remember Uvalde? Where there were police around and he still ran in and killed a bunch of kids? And all the evidence that police are far more hostile to minority students. And all the evidence that it reduces educational attainment.
The easy solution is actually "just put police there", but we know for a fact it doesn't work. Meanwhile we have entire countries removing guns to solve mass shootings.
This was hashed out in a prior thread, but there are as many or more anecdotes where having armed security at a school prevented the shooting or prevented the shooting from going mass casualty. In Florida, it was the security guard who abandoned his post, duties, and the children. In Uvalde, the building was not secure, door left open, police scared and inept.
I agree school shootings are a problem and a concern. The tools we have as US citizens don't allow taking guns from law abiding citizens though. Maybe liberals can get it that way someday, but we are years from that. What we CAN do is sensible action such as guarding a schools, locking doors, etc.
Would you rather risk kids lives for decades as liberals chase an unattainable solution to a real problem? Or put into play a response that WILL reduce the problem immediately while we await liberals perfect solution
