The extremes have gotten worse, and that seems to be what's examined most. Potentially because it makes the most noise. Has the average citizen been overly impacted? Not likely. Other than people getting offended by what they see on the internet, I can't say I've experienced many people complaining, but that's anecdotal.

Again though, I think the extremes have gotten worse and that in turn does make it worse for everyone if it perpetuates. The idea of every single person being happy is stupid.
