Of course, you do constantly excuse American imperialism: You deny any role the US has in creating the situation in Ukraine; you talk about how the promise to not expand NATO eastward doesn't matter or never existed; you argue that NATO's various aggressive wars don't justify Russia's demands that NATO not expand to Ukraine; you defend America when it destroys Russo-German infrastructure.

Your entire thing is to minimize American imperialism where it matters (now, the present) and gently disavow it where it doesn't matter (the past, back then). Amazing, btw, how everyone who talks about this Ukraine war was opposed to Iraq, despite most of the people here being exactly the type of people who cheered it on the loudest.

(Also, Russia's invasion isn't imperialism, we've been over this. Imperialism is a discrete concept of capital extraction, the opposite has been happening and will happen in greater amounts whenever peace is achieved.)

Absolutely nothing the US did, or has even been accused of doing in Ukraine, justifies Russia's invasion. Russia doesn't get a say in who Ukraine associates with.

A promise that died with the administration that issued it, because it was not put into writing.

It's absolutely imperialism. Ask the Ukrainians about the half billion in stolen grain that Russia is smuggling.

I'm not sure I'd share that "joy" in decreasing my quality of living to which you've sacrificed.

Russia takes action to alter the status of Ukraine as a Western tool: bad.

America takes action to alter the status of Ukraine as an independent state: dezinformatsiya!

All one-sides excuses for American instigation, meddling and aggression combined with one-sided condemnation for Russia (eventually, slowly, begrudgingly) responding in kind.

FFS, as if the "actions" are even remotely comparable. What the US did in Ukraine, Russia did in the US.

For extra fun, ask American diplomats to explain why they recognize Kosovo as a state but not Crimea as part of Russia.

If you can, since they'd never accept an interview with a "journalist" who would ask such a question.
