The publications I've seen have shown that transitioning Clearly has positive outcomes with regard to suicide rate it's great and D transitioning is rare and really only occurs when they don't have a supportive family that encourages them to detransition
https://journals.lww.com/cur/fulltext/2021/03000/transgender_surgery___knowledge_gap_among.12.aspxthis one highlights a specific issue, the lack of literature on the subject, especially in post-op care and complications.
but even if we take the pro-transition surgery statistics we're throwing a roll of the dice at children i cant support. if they want to get it at 18-25 i have no issue. something like 90% according to some sources are happy with their new equipment, i dont like the idea of giving kids a 1/10 chance of scarring themselves forever rather than waiting a few years to think it over.
in any case, refusing puberty blockers in kids is bad. there's clearly consequences there. girls grow breasts, boys gain muscle they'll later hate, etc. whereas the advantages of early reassignment surgery seem far less tangible and FAR less reversible.
