In my opinion, the family definitely deserves compensation for his death. The officer(s) lied in their report to spin it a certain way. Unfortunately, cameras are now easily accessible to anyone (and body cameras are fantastic when in use). I believe it's overkill AF to have several guns pointed at a man that had: (1) mentioned a mental health hospital (2) informed the officers he had knives instead of hiding that fact (3) showed no signs of aggression (4) body language seemed to be genuine in showing he was compliant and afraid simultaneously...
