There might be some old america speeches pre-TV and whatnot, and I don't know how comparable they would be, but this might be a new precedent for the modern era

one of the gripes I have with so much Hollywood depictions of WW2, efforts to demonize Hitler make him into such a caricature that nobody can recognize how the average person would follow him, which leaves them blind to future Hitlers
