so can we get a credit loan forgiveness program too? aren't they both debt or am i missing something?

I agree that it's great that dumb fuck trade guys who work 60 hour weeks will help foot the bill for this. Being a dumb fuck trade guy shouldn't be encouraged at all in this country and we should do what we can to make their life as hard as possible. IMO, that IS progress.


Probably why trades jobs are now comfortable 6 figure jobs and there is a shortage of plumbers, welders, etc meanwhile the typical college grad is under-employed. Progress/10

Not agreeing with @thundercock in the slightest, but the massively salary skyrocket has more to do with the fact that climate change isn't real. They're only going to become more scarce as natural disasters continue to increase.

This is extremely unfair, does nothing to resolve the underlying problems which created the student loan bubble in the first place and just all-around reeks of desperation.

i used my pell grant for a 2 year degree, but i worked blue collar jobs after i graduated. i wanted to work part-time and enjoy my hobbies. earlier this year, i got a job at a local ISP (although, not sure if the degree helped, maybe)

i remember 95% of the extra $ from the pell grant went towards the expensive books. although, i saved a shit ton of $ downloading the pdfs. but some professors wanted us to have a physical copy

maybe lenders will raise rates or deny loans in the future, doubtful, but maybe. could be the first ineffectual step towards a better system, but doubtful.

Instead of forgiving debts, punish the colleges and universities for their ridiculously inflated tuition costs. Punish the book sellers, too.

This is stupid and solves nothing in the long run.
