Then I encourage you to put yourself in the place of the officers. An uncontrolled man grabbed one of two weapons from you. The weapon he grabbed has the ability to completely incapacitate you, opening up opportunity to grab your lethal weapon. You have mere seconds to act.

Imagine a hypothetical incident where an assailant ambushes a couple cops sitting in a police car unprovoked, shoots one in the head through the window with a revolver, killing him instantly, and then takes off running down the street. The other officer gives chase, during which the assailant fires five more shots at him over his back. As the officer catches up to him, he turns and levels his revolver at the officer, who draws his service pistol and opens fire, killing him. The liberal DA then arrests the officer and charges him with murder, saying that because the man fired all six shots in his revolver, he was now an unarmed black man and therefore any use of force was not justified, surviving cop gets 30 years in prison after a show trial.

Basically just taking this line of thought to its logical next step
no fucking shit it was justified, Rayshard Brooks was given excessive amounts of leeway by the cops and he still decided to grab a weapon and fire it at police

grabbing at a police officers weapons whether piss drunk or dead sober is indeed grounds for a death sentence. this dead idiot is no Tamir Rice, then again BLM hasn't chosen a worthy martyr since Rice and doesnt look likely to find his ilk again anytime soon.

Philando Castile was just as unjustified as Tamir Rice. So was John Crawford.

Those are both indeed very good causes for CJ reform. my issue tends to be that no one on average knows either name, crawford specifically. yet we all know mike brown, george floyd, eric garner, etc.

my point is there are many 100% law abiding citizens killed by officers every year, and yet those who are killed while committing a crime (large or small) are championed by BLM and highlighted by the media.

every american on both sides of the aisle should know Tamir Rices name, many dont.

Oh, I get where you're coming from. I think a parallel issue in the BLM arena would be the over enforcement (or in the case of Garner and Floyd, summary execution) for relatively minor infractions. Passing a bad $20 or selling loose cigarettes should not carry a death sentence.

It doesn't but in a pool of 300 million sometimes when you commit a crime you can't control the results and just assume the reaction will be proportional.

That's how some random guy gets shot dead over a dice game and that's how cops sometimes make mistakes and use excessive force. Neither outcomes are fair or okay.
