Drinking calories is fine. Obviously not your entire daily amount but if you're looking to move yourself into a caloric surplus its easy to drink an additional 500-1000 calories a day on top of your normal intake to gain some additional weight. Its the only way I commit to going into a surplus during strength blocks.
Would I suggest something like the poor mans GOMAD diet promoted on the early days of the BB forums, no, but a moderate amount of liquids is fine.
i am drinking calories too with my protein shake, but they are accounted for and i need them
most people are not lifting or doing some other type of activity and for them drinking calories is totally unnecessary
its a major reason for the overweight epidemic in the world
