most 1st world (or say, highly developed) countries have a credible health care system. not so America. With regards to health care every other developed country can be labeled as communist in the eyes of Americans. my impression of America is any scheme which is designed to support the group(read; all) and not the individual or specific groupsets, in a direct threat to American values.
what blows my mind is the warped logic that exists whereby democrats and republicans at the highest levels appear to do everything in their power to alienate/vilify each other and vote on serious issues along party lines, even the supreme court is like this, rather then doing what is right for all americans. this us and them appears to permeate their society and this is just another example of it.
