What is there to say. There is basically zero room for discussion between sides on almost any political topic these days. Those who lean towards personal freedom and liberty think this is abhorrent and have been arguing against universal background checks and such for this reason exactly. Those on the side of authoritarianism and control think this is fantastic and would love nothing more than law abiding gun owners to be bullied and harassed in a state where defending yourself is pretty much illegal.
There is nothing that will bridge the gap anymore.
It seems to me, more and more topics are losing their bridge. People make up their mind on something and go online to validate their opinion. They never question if it's right, wrong, correct or incorrect. Most people don't believe they're being lied to by outside forces with an agenda. This goes both ways.
It really hurts my heart when I try to speak to people from all walks of life about this. Many of them instantly shutdown any open minded capability they had, as if they burnt the bridge long ago.
hopefully that made some sense, I'm not the best to explain things. But I try to consider multiple points of view, even if I don't always succeed.
