Soldiers are deployed in the US a lot, are they? Not sure what world you're living in. What we're talking about is police. You know, the very same police you lot wanted to defund five seconds ago because they're racist, brutal, and out of control? Are you saying you want the police to be armed, and you not, when you clearly trust them so deeply, and it's your life, and the lives of your children at stake?

If the US government went tyrannical and wanted to crush you, the second amendment isn't going to stop them. Nor will the tradition of not mobilizing troops against American citizens in America. The second amendment isn't a defense against a tyrannical government anymore unless you can advocate for fighter planes and nukes being unregulated.

So, gun control should never be supported, because when it's called for the most, is when self-preservation tends to be needed the most.

what gun nuts don't realise is that "the government" doesn't have anything to gain from coming to their place and arresting them. they are much more useful as gun-hoarding NPCs, directly financing their exploiters' donors, while quietly accepting every power grab, every surveillance measure, every disenfranchisement.
