We didn't have this kind of rapid fire misinformation before the social media age at least. There was still the media jackals jumping on false reports like the olympic bomber and whatnot, but not the kind of spread-like-wildfire-and-get-debunked-just-as-fast claims we see now. And that goes for democrats and republicans. We had democrats spreading false claims about the previous shooter, we had reddit spreading wrong accounts about the cops here, we had republicans spreading bogus reports about the shooter being a tranny that originated on 4chan. We had politicians from both sides of the aisle weigh in on previous cases like rittenhouse and jussie smollett, infamously including president biden.

Anyway here's one being debunked in real time today. Lots of folks jumped hook line and sinker onto a hoax by a leftist claiming to have a nephew killed in this attack and then been offered a bribe by governor abbott to stage a photo op. Same guy claims to be 9/11 responder, have a purple heart, be a POW, shot Trump supporters, even making up that he's black, that his gay brother died in iraq, that his father was to be buried in an NFL jersey he couldn't get shipped to him fast enough just to trick the NFL twitter reps into mailing him a free jersey as a scam, a bunch of obviously made up shit and easily proven as hoaxes. Spread by CBS, LA Times, Keith Olbermann (who seems to fall for EVERY hoax, I keep seeing his name pop up every fucking time there's one of these hoaxes), USA Today, EW,

Because in the initial aftermath, 4chan and twitter sleuthers misidentified two random trannies from the internet who resembled the gunman and spread the pics. Most responses were pointing out its unverified and asking for source. One might have been pics from the guy's discord group chat, and I'm still unsure whether the pic was real or not- of a guy crossdressing, not necessarily tranny- but one was a pretty easily debunked pic straight from a reddit attention whore and clearly not the gunman and still active and able to call it out.
Vetting information is a lot harder than just spreading every rumor that crosses your desk. Look at the winter of 2016-2017 and everything blasted in the media about Trump and Russia lmao

Trump def an Russian asset. He was impeached for holding military aid to Ukraine, tried to pull US out of NATO for Putin, turned over tons of military bases and equipment to him in Syria, has offered justification and support for the invasion of Ukraine, has ask him for help publicly politically since the war started in getting elected.

Trump was such a Russian asset that the Democrats who spent all 4 years of his term opposing his geopolitical plan to fight Russia economically, have now adopted that very same plan.
The difference in how Trump acted was that he was consistent to his doctrine of economic aggression military peace. The democrats have consistently been inconsistent.

Please answer the question. You didn't address the question at all. I made a list of things that Trump did to show that he was an asset to Putin and made a challenge of how he could be acting different if he wasn't.

You answered a question nobody asked that isn't related to my question and furthermore it was a conflationary answer that doesn't say anything with a bunch of words.

How could he act different if he was an asset? Could he have done any more for Putin than he did? He tried to feed him Ukraine, took an impeachment to weaken them and tried to get out of NATO even.

It makes sense for Trump and Putin to be bed fellows, they have similar worldviews, fascist authoritarians leaning into nationalist white supremacy ideology.
