This is not a winning issue for votes by any stretch of the imagination. The left was cynically anti-gay marriage when Obama ran for office precisely because they were willing to compromise their ideals for votes, because pretty much every democratic politician actually supported it by that point as did most liberal voters, but they wanted to capture the centrists and breakaway republicans. Even in 2022 with netflix and CBS churning out trans propaganda, the masses are still virulently hostile to the idea of demented liberal parents mutilating their children's genitals. A significant majority oppose trans athletes on women's teams. A small minority actually know any trans people. A majority oppose HRT and SRS for children.
This is pure liberal self-destruction, a social agenda run completely amok. Its what happens to movements that eat their own leadership and start being led by their most fringe elements. Its how we got Democrats openly embracing and championing literal nazi war criminals in 2022. It wouldn't happen if the adults were in charge
