Trump's endorsement clearly has some sway, as evidenced by Vance's victory. But then again, 68% of the vote went to other candidates that Trump did not endorse. In a crowded 5-way race between flawed candidates, even a swing of 8 or so percentage points from a Trump endorsement can make the difference, but Trump's endorsement isn't an automatic field-clearer.
I would say primary voters are still receptive to cues from Trump and his endorsements, but they have their own mind. In 2017, Alabama primary voters flouted Trump's endorsement of Luther Strange to pick Roy Moore as their guy (what a choice that was in hindsight) and in 2022, Kemp will easily crush Trump-endorsed Perdue in spite of Trump focusing a lot of his energy and narcissistic rage on that race.
