And? Is there any context for this picture or is it just catering to preexisting homophobia without any actual merit?

Why do conservatives hate meritocracy so much?

To continue your argument, why should gay people be barred from government service?

Why would you associate that picture with homosexuality? None of the gay people I know are perverts obsessed with flaunting sexual degeneracy in public. They're just normal people.

Why should people with mental disorders be banned from government service?

You guys protect pedophiles but if you don't act straight enough it is bad?

Weird value system.

Are they really just normal people though? Do you consider yourself a normal person as well?

Why are you the fashion police? I didn't realize there were fashion requirements. Would you rather it be one of Joe Biden's kids like some kind of Trump appointee?

Why are you guys so fucking scared of meritocracy that the Good Ole Boy system is the hill the right collectively dies on every time?

You don't even have an argument, and this is especially pathetic. You just post a pic of a man in a dress and expect it to hit the bigotry buttons. You are like "he dresses funny and doesn't fuck like me, I don't like him". What does that have to do with the office?

Grow up dude.

That picture wasn't even in public, if it was he was within his rights, but it is in a classroom that you don't have the context of and are speaking about ignorantly.

We get it, fascism is great, liberalism sucks, we should all dress alike. Get it together ffs.

A lot of people angry that a guy in a dress is doing way better than them. Well work hard, get good, and you can be as good as that guy.

so what kind of work history and research does he have, besides just the diploma? Activism sure doesn't count

Brinton’s years-long career in nuclear waste management, climate change, LGBTQ activism and youth mentorship — including stints at Global Zero, the Trevor Project and Deep Isolation, a company of researchers and scientists advancing safer methods for nuclear waste disposal — is well documented, as is their activism in kink subculture.

A graduate of MIT with dual masters degrees in nuclear engineering and technology and policy programming, Brinton has been unapologetic about their activism, as well as their life as a drag performer and as one of the loudest voices fighting to end conversion therapy as the founder of the 50 Bills 50 States campaign.

Nobody is against meritocracy. I believe people are saying that candidates shouldn't get extra points for being queer or transsexual..etc. If the person mentioned in the original post earned this position by merit, then more power to him. But if his queerness helped in any way, then it's not right. And I tend to agree with this.

Queerness doesn't help in getting you a job. That is external locus of control cuck bullshit imo. Where is your evidence? If that is true then we must have had a lot of fucking crossdressers in government cabinets before this huh?

Resounding NOPE, this just isn't true. It is like saying Obama won the president for being black...yeah...like all the other black dudes that were president before him. Lol. I've heard people say that tho. This is akin to that.

What about this dude's qualifications fall short? I don't know if they are going to do a good job or not, but they are a nuclear engineer with all the credentials and does a lot of work in the field.

Being against a qualified person because he or she doesn't dress like a good old boy is exactly being against meritocracy. You believe that a person like that cannot possibly be as qualified as a person who looks like you, therefore the person who looks like you was passed over and this is injustice. But that vision is pregnant with poor presuppositions.

Yes, his aesthetic is shocking. You used to not be able to get a job with long hair or a tattoo either though.

But I never said he's not qualified just because he's gay. Nor am I saying he got his job purely because he's gay. I said, candidates shouldn't get extra points for being gay. That is my point.
