While the idea of special tax breaks for corporations is abhorrent (government spends more on corporate welfare than it does on public welfare), the idea that the removal of (and potential restoration of) a tax break contingent upon whether a corporation bends the knee to the government is equally abhorrent.

And what is really going to happen is that the taxpayers or Orange and Osceola Counties in Florida are going to see their property taxes skyrocket, as the existing Reedy Creek area has its own taxing authority which can't be simply replaced. Over $163 million dollars will hit county taxpayers, as will about $1 billion in bond debt. That could negatively impact the ability for them two issue new bonding for years to come.
