23% of maybe 65% of eligible voters is hardly "a third", but i get what you mean. some reasons:

- racial and religious tensions
- nationalist sentiments that have always been popular, predominantly amongst the less educated
- economic problems that racists promise to disappear once all "foreigners" / "others" disappear, even though that's obviously utter non-sense
- discontent with the current leadership

In the 2017 runoff (second election) it was a third of the population that took part in the election that would support le pen.

And those very general elaborations you made on why people vote for right parties apply to every single country in the world, yet, for instance, Germany only has a sixth of its voters favouring extremists.

I'm still asking for France-specific motivations behind people's voting behaviour.

Nah, in 2017 and even today, Lepen is playing the "moderate" card: no more quitting EU, no more quitting NATO, no more quicking all migrants etc.

They fell in love while he was like 15-20 and she was 39-44, Almost 25 years it's crazy. Then he stays with her. Sounds like they beat the age difference taboo.
