They were entrapped. The FBI has found less terrorists than justifies their budget so they invent new ones to arrest to make themselves look good. They did the same thing with muslim kids after 9/11, who didn't share any juror sympathies. These guys were drunk and high shitheads LARPing in a basement with about all the capability of masterminding a terrorist attack as Harold and Kumar. The star witness informant plead the fifth and part of their supposed training was a BBQ with a kids pool where parents reported nothing out of the ordinary. Jurors didnt seem to buy it
