The richest people in the world aren't on the public radar for their wealth. They are super old money who's wealth can't even really be calculated. Think rulers of nations... and not the Putin type. The royal family of England type. People who's wealth approaches that of a medium size country.

taking even an on the radar example of the british royal family, how do you value the crown jewels of England. and what's the likelihood they could even liquidate land holdings to access the cash.

Musk by comparison could, but wont, sell his stock. it would just devalue as he does, because the valuation is largely inflated by his cult of personality.
