I don't even get why this is a story anymore, guy literally paid to get his ass beat then lied about it, "HERR BUT PEOPLE BELIEVED HIM!" So what?
Its so bloody outlandish that the truth was less likely than the lie.
Posting screenshots of people who believed a guy who literally paid to have himself beat up is not really the gotcha you all seem to think it is.
Then we have the ku klux fans who think being black has some kind of advantage in a court which makes even less sense than what jussy smollet did.

The reason it’s so egregious is because of race relations today pushed by scripted actors who are lying to low information people. If you don’t see this as a problem I don’t see you as having sight. Or forethought at least
