Okay i'll bite... Do you make choices based on your own intellectual determinations or do what is instructed?

You won't answer honestly because the script isnt written for you.

By this rationale I'm changing my life, I'm just going to not go to work, instead I'll climb up in trees, and jerk off in them like some kind of perverted druid, and if you try stop me, you're a fucking fascist piece of shit.

You call people Nazi on the right

But nazi's were socialist leftists.

I'm definitely antifascist, the only good fascist is a dead one. But the organization Antifa? I've soured on them a long time ago. I'm antifascist with a little a not big A.

I'm not the fashion police, I don't give a fuck what you wear, I wear a mask at work because I'm a frontward facing healthcare working directly caring for people and my hospital makes me wear it still. I wear it around my patients who aren't wearing one and half the time I take it off so that they can understand me or read my lips if they're hard of hearing because I work with some geriatric people.

But just want to point out that we do a bunch of shit that we don't want to. I don't think it is great, on the contrary I agree with Fredrich Nietzsche and Sigmund Freud that most of what is classified as mental illness is a result of humans having to live calculatedly within a social contract and how bad that is for us psychologically. Nietzsche just said that there isn't a lot of legends of barbarians committing suicide despite the problems they had and therefore were probably pretty happy and fulfilled. Durkheim's studies show that suicide really ramped up with industrialization.

I just got off work and I've spend the past eight hours in an inpatient psychiatric unit managing cases with the docs and this job makes you think about these sorts of things a lot. I talk to suicidal people or people who've tried to kill themselves a lot. Every day multiple people a day.

Personally I don't care what anybody wears. I've met people wearing nothing but aluminum hats and foil wrapped around their dick and nips, with actual wires coming out of their butthole, so I 100% don't care about a mask. I've had patients who I knew 100% had covid-19 spit in my face. As long as you don't do that I won't be doing pushups on your head.

My expectations and demands on human behavior around me are probably a lot different than yours.

To be clear I hate masks, but I disagree that they are a symbol for control. My pandemic experience has been in Ohio and we've had probably the most measured approach in the states and while I'm liberal I support DeWine like I supported Kascish because they put Ohio first.

But I have libertarian tendencies and don't think the government has the right to force people to wear a mask outside. Since Americans literally worship private property as religion people are gods within their property and can demand you wear whatever the fuck they want while there.

Is the government experimenting with authoritarian social controls with the pandemic as a rationale? Absolutely. If you want to learn about this process check out Foucault's concepts of Biopower and the Imperial Boomerang.

But I read your post, I understand it, disagree with particulars, but agree with the overall sentiment?

Going to go put on nonwork clothes and start the bacon. Wife will be home soon.

But are not the same reasons you disagree very parallel to the reasons the general public justify their use?

Well who taught the 'general public'..

Also I would like to interject my personal experience with past construction work. Osha has Very strict requirements on masks.
These flimsy 'masks' people wear in public are FAR from protecting themselves or others.

as to your Libertarian tendencies, an overal desire for freedom is GREAT!
But putting labels on things is bad, Yes I know I did this and it's really in my own opinion a shameful process.

We shouldn't have to put labels on people for one or two of their values or opinions.

I'd care less about wearing mask if it wasn't the case that literally every politician who wants to fine/arrest us for being maskless, has been caught going maskless

I try to avoid labels by using person-first language when I'm at my best.
