Gotta go with California, Texas, Mass or New York.

Why is Mass on your list? The state is tiny and lacks geographic and ideological diversity. The only arguments in favor of living there is the high standard of living/the good wages.

Personally, I think that both Colorado and Washington (state) seem neat.

Answered your own question. Also one of the most educated states and has lots of work in my field.

If it's the best state for a specific field, I get it. But a generic "high wages" argument isn't convincing imho. There's just so many places with good job opportunities for highly qualified people, including in states which are less boring.

High wages and good jobs is a pretty good argument for any state. The jobs in my field and educated population are a plus.

High standard of living and good wages are insanely more important lol

I'm doubly spoiled: born into one of the more affluent and, at the same time, geographically beautiful regions of Germany. :P

Anyway, the thread is about the best states. There's something like 10 of them with a high level of wages and standard of living, so it makes total sense to look at other factors to rank them.
