He was sleeping with it under the comforter, in a high crime neighborhoods with a lot of home invasions. He had a matter of seconds between waking up, seeing men charging into the home with guns drawn and being shot to death. Its not really easy to tell what's going on in the first few seconds of waking up.
Also... if you recall, the Star Tribune has been caught publishing deliberately incorrect news in the past. Numerous times.
For example... nowhere in that whole article does it say WHY the police went to that apartment. I would think that was a crucial piece of information.
Not to mention, if you live in a high crime neighborhood, you can't expect the same treatment as if you lived in a low crime neighborhood.
You need to be twice as careful.
Even a black cop in St. Paul Minn, is gonna shoot first and ask questions later, considering what has happened in St. Paul in the past couple years.
Also, at 0:28 you can SEE the guy on the couch has woken, rose up and turned around with the gun in his hand.
I mean the cops are shouting "search warrant". The proper response to that is NOT to get up, with gun and turn to face the police officers.
