Oh that's cute, your imaginary friend is your king?
He represents the organization that has covered up hundreds or even thousands of pedophile cases.
Yes, we're going to blame him.
lmao you big mad pedo boy
Facts
he could have said it better....much better.
So the man at the top of an organization is always at fault, to the point of being ridiculed and demonized, for things he could not have known were happening on his watch?
I don't know man, I'm an atheist myself and have identified as an anti-theist for a very long time in my life, but if a priest is raping kids, I would much rather blame the priest.
Quite frankly, now that I have opened books and databanks on the subject of rape in light of my course in psychiatry, linked to what I see around me as a therapist and doctor-to-be, sexual violence is everywhere. Literally, everywhere. I do suspect there's a higher incidence within the church's official positions because it gives people a relatively easy access to the vulnerable and it is thus an understandably attractive job to sign up for. But blaming religion for child rape, I don't think that's right.
Statistically speaking you know a handful of women that have been molested one way or another. Most of them will not recognize and acknowledge what has happened to them as an act of sexual aggression. Victims tend to fall into a spiral of selfblame, not one of victimization (that's, ironically, usually a job for the culprit. Something about self-deception there). I'm just saying, if you want to judge people for sexual aggression, you don't have to look all the way to the Vatican to find someone to point fingers to. Consent remains a very difficult concept, and more often than not victims from situations that arose from a relationship with a trusted (friend, crush, lover, partner, family, teacher, ....) have an everlasting conflict between believing that the other party has committed a grave act against their own sexual and personal integrity on the one hand, and believing that they consented to it - or at least did not give ample indication of not wanting it - on the other.
Sorry, #endrant. It's been a long day. This subject triggers me. I'll let myself out of the thread.
