They are a very rich country, yet they are run by a brutal dictatorship where any dissent is punished to the fullest extent.

They are even literally rewriting China’s history to make Xi look more like a good guy.

But I mean I am glad there are a few thousand super rich and powerful people in a nation of over 1,000,000,000 people. Most of which live in actual (not phony American) poverty.

The reason the citizenry are quiet about the oppression is because their quality of life has been improving and they are being lifted from poverty.
