The DoJ released a letter threatening to treat parents as domestic terrorists and all the implicit powers they can leverage in the name of counterterrorism.
Representatives in the federal government demanded the DoJ testify about their threats to parents.
The DoJ officials deflected and tried to cherry pick examples of parents threatening school boards in order to justify the comparison to terrorists.
A specific example given by the DoJ was a father in Loudon county who was on video trying to assault school officials and restrained by guards before he was arrested and convicted of disorderly conduct.
That made this one specific example come into a more national spotlight, and the story behind it started to trend.
It turned out it had nothing to do with mask mandates or critical race theory, and instead it was a father who had found out his young daughter had been forcibly raped at school by an older boy.
The boy was a transgender MTF who pulled her into a bathroom and raped her, and when she reported the incident to school officials, they reacted by covering it up.
They made no official incident report and didn't tell police, and instead justified the cover-up on the basis of the anti-policing / restorative justice non-punishment...
...a well as believing a public report would influence the ongoing debate over the transgender-bathroom bill. They knew a story of a transgender MTF raping a young girl in a bathroom would be politically charged.
The result was that transgender MTF was sent to a different school without any reports. Where he then raped another girl in the same manner.
When the understandably irate father approached the school board demanding answers, the school officials declared to his face that there was no such incident and it never took place, because there was no report of it.
The same school official also had emails recovered from his computer showing he was aware of it and personally directed the coverup. But he still called the father a liar, to his face.
Which led to the exchange seen on the video, which the DoJ then cited as reason to treat parents as domestic terrorists.

the state government had just months earlier passed a bill that loosened the mandatory reporting laws, making it so school officials aren't required to report certain crimes including sexual assault- just last year, they would be required to by law
and the school board meeting that the girl's parents attended and confronted the officials at, was itself a discussion of the school's transgender bathroom policy. That's when the superintendent was specifically asked whether any assaults had taken place in school bathrooms, and despite emails proving he knew otherwise, he lied and said there was no record of any incidents at all.

also I like the part where when the school officials were talking to each other instead of making press releases, they just dropped the trans-positive bullshit act pretense and just bluntly stated that a male student raped a female student

Honestly I'm only like 70-80% on this story's details, I could be wrong about major points, idk.
Its not like there's some well curated wiki for keeping track of political stories like this. Certainly not wikipedia and its propaganda if it ever deemed such an issue noteworthy

Like lets say I wanted to confirm all the gory details of Ilhan Omar's brotherly love and her life story, where can I read that? Its not easily found, people don't just stumble across dozens of years-interspersed columns on Powerlineblog by multiple authors.
In this case, its once again a story about a cover-up, and politically-motivated bad actors choosing to cover up an incident for all the exact same reasons that social media moderators and journalists will participate in censoring it and covering it up

There are some even more damning details in there, like how the same prosecutor that decided to pursue charges against the father despite de-criminalizing misdemeanors as a matter of policy (for black people), was also aware of the pending rape complaint since its his prosecution too;

Schools have been covering up similar crimes from straight white men for years, sounds like equality to me.

as far as we know, this was a crime committed by a straight white boy that got covered up

i was unable to locate a single valid source where the rapist was without a doubt transgender, the bigotry being pushed is awkward

The reports on the incident identify the rapist as a 14 year old boy who wore a skirt and identified as 'gender fluid'. That much is already confirmed by court transcripts where it was argued in the assault case;



He remains unidentified as juvenile charges are sealed by law, and the court dockets only reveal the multiple pending charges of forcibly sodomy / sexual assault.
If you take issue with the distinction between "gender fluid boy wearing a skirt" and "transgender", please do elaborate.
