Self-defense is a type of gun violence though. You might find it acceptable, but it still is classified as such.

But suppose she DID have a gun though? What would that have solved? She could have escalated the situation and ended up dying. She might have killed him and she'd have to live with that for the rest of her life. Based on the video, it seems that the door was a very effective method of protection that produced the least amount of violence.

Yes, the guy would be shot by a firearm. However, if the person doing the shooting was only trying to protect herself from harm/rape, then it's not "violence". Or if you really insist it is, then maybe it should be allowed.
