Religions have failed to provide community, and the increased access to information via the internet has highlighted the failure of religious organizations.

Like, why would a 22 year old join a church? They probably know at least a couple gay people that they respect and when they go to church they're told how bad they are. You can see the failure of the largest organizations like the Catholic church to take even the most basic action against literal child fuckers, and know they actively hid them from the authorities and enabled their actions.

So I don't see it as why people are abandoning the church, I see it as why should they stay? What does religion actually offer anymore? Not community, not security, not hope. Nothing you can't get elsewhere.

because religion is a sham that defers responsibility of ones actions.

if we want a true system of accountability we cannot have a group of population enacting extremists acts such as murder, rape, suicide bombings, theft, white collar crime, because god told them to do it and then the same group then says if they confess their sins god will forgive them. its deluded thinking and it needs to be wiped off the face of this planet.

furthermore, when religion seeks to control a person's body - can fuck right off. religion has been warped, twisted, and perverted by 21st century humans who use it to profit for their own goals and power.

how can anyone say that god exists when in countries like america, you can rape your sister, and then sue her for trying to get an abortion.

People have always been anti-religion. It’s just now Christianity is able to be called out for what it is despite its prominence.

You can have spirituality and a moral compass without religion. Religion is just a belief structure and set of rules wrapped around a spiritual idea.

A lot of people say this, but all the people who left were the weak ones, the church is arguably stronger than it has even been before now because only the true believers are left.
