Nuclear reactors used for propulsion are not really conducive to manufacturing weapons-grade fissile materials. You'd have to be regularly be taking the ship off line to extract the materials during a refueling operation. The Chinese might have a leg to stand on if Australia were to provide their own fuel, which doesn't seem likely.

US will pay another gigantic load of money to patrol deeper in the pacific shitting in their 50k$ toilets seats. In exchange they will sell some nuclear submarines to Australia (which will be peanuts in the long run)
Hello defense budget.

In the same time "European Army" is pushing forward, NATO must be remplaced, France going crazy with this story, presidential elections soon too with Macron almost guaranted to win.
