Only good. My total interactions though for my entire life has only been a few house party breakups, DUI checks and that's it.

I was in a nice place and told a cop he didn't belong there (he walked into a house). Was arrested, so I got real mouthy, real fast. Different cop drove me to the station, and I was super cool with him.

Depending on the clothes I’m wearing I almost look homeless.

Police to me have been fair and helpful. But thats because I'm not stupid around them.

expired tags (easy money maker) - cop was incredibly cordial and let me off if i got them updated which i did later that day
“rolling” stop/~10 mph over (75 in 65 highway) - cops acted like i was public enemy #1

mixed bag to say the least

i am very much pro police and never had a bad experience until covid

but its absolutely shocking to watch especially young police officers jerking off to the number of bullshit fines they have handed out on unconstitutional laws

i hoped that we would get some resistance there and officers would look the other way to show some temperance, but we got the opposite

its so disappointing, but welcome to a society where thieves and drug dealers can do anything, but 10 officers wrestle down some random guy who is not wearing a mask in the park

Municipalities have been hamstrung into not raising taxes to pay for vital services like courts so they have to raise money on petty fines. That's late-stage capitalism. Business interests have so much control they can shift taxes onto the poorest members of society by lobbying against tax increases and making municipalities replace the income with fines. Pretty shitty aint it? That's the real problem with society. Thieves, drug dealers, etc. are way down since the 90's but we keep adding police because they are now seen as a source of revenue.

Mixed bag for me. The rural cops, sheriff and deputies, and state troopers have all been more than professional. My few run ins with Twin Cities cops have been meh, very egotistical bullyish type cops. Used to work along side many lawyers, so can at least navigate their BS. Rural cops know the community, so its a different dynamic. City cops assume everyone is causing some sort of mischief and really push BS understanding of laws on regular stops.

bullshit, fines are just pennies in the great scheme of things

the officers you send for them cost more already
