Lately, no, because I've been working so much, but generally I absolutely love discussing politics with the right people. There seems to have been a distinctive political dichotomy that has developed during the second half of Obama's administration and certainly during the Trump years. There is very little in the way of sensible political discourse so I don't try unless I respect the person I'm talking to.
I look at it like this -- I basically do not believe either party in a political discussion will walk away with their minds changed. Most people have a very fixed position on politics and therefore I view political discussion like a mental and ideological exercise in a way where you can entertain certain thoughts, positions, what have you within the confines of a discussion. In this way you can freely discuss things and possible become educated on a subject or be exposed to a perspective you weren't thinking; even if you retain your beliefs.
At the end of the day I'm extremely against ignorance, I'm more than willing to talk to anyone about anything and I don't believe it needs to escalate to hostility at all.
