Cool story. Lots of labs research Coronavirus. It's a whole family of respiratory viruses with a history if zoonotic events.

If they really engineered this virus it was done in a way that no government or scientific organisation can tell it was engineered. Possible, but incredibly unlikely without a ton of evidence.

Trippy thing about the coronovirus lab studies is that when they send the virus between labs, it isn't done in a dish, it's done over the internet

China and the USA were working on these since 2013 when it was discovered in villagers near bat caves etc

so it came from bats, but was being studied for years inside labs, and the outbreak could have been caused by either thing tbh

Sending virus samples is usually done by sending on media samples from the cells you cultured it in on dry ice.

Source: I use lentivirus and others to transfect cell lines with spliced genes. I've sent and received virus samples several times.

Its possible they send the sequence then the second lab synthesizes it and and packages it and infects cells, but thats more costly and more annoying than just sending a cooler over night with fedex.

Link that doesn't block me on a paywall. The idea is that some miners in a bat infested cave got sick, scientists took samples, identified several coronaviruses, and it's possible that far later these samples infected the science staff and got spread to the community. I don't see this as particularly unlikely. The rural bat caves are an absolute mecca for human bat contact, so they are already a likely origin for bat to human transfer. I wouldn't have any reservations about this being the origin of covid if it eventually comes out that way. My only contention is with the people who say it was engineered.





lol, just pointing out that it's not expensive at all to just ship viruses between labs. Maybe they do have a good enough synthesis and packaging setup that they will just send the sequences. I'd like to see what that process is like.

just interesting how you can send the genetic data via internet and re-create it in a lab on the other side of the planet without sending an actual sample in a dish

I'd like to see the setup that makes it easier than shipping on dry ice. Would be cool.

We’ve always known this though. Trump was even briefed about it in November 2019 and then spent the next 6 months calling it a Democrat hoax and preventing action, resulting in the deaths of millions.
