2d thinking. Obsession is real. Following me from thread to thread to ankle bite. Instead of engaging on a topic like an adult, you're choosing to show how petty you are.

I am very petty on the internet. It's where I vent my shittiness.

It's extra fun to troll you because I don't have to pretend to be dumb to do it. I just have to point out your values and thought process are shitty, contradictory, and self-centered, which is something I'd gladly do even if the goal wasn't trolling.

For real though, if you don't have an issue price gouging on water but have an issue with scalpers gauging on graphics cards, you're a shit person and you need to rethink your values.

I have an issue with both, and would prefer "market distorting regulation" on both. In fact, if there's a disaster, I'd be fine with some sort of federal disaster mandate (a power the federal government has) to mandate water companies manufacture and sell water to the government for the free distribution at the disaster site while actively disallowing people to gauge water prices. If a guy in a truck wants to come with free water, or come with water costing a small bit more than regular market value where he bought it so he can transport it, then sure. Allow that, but I think the government should have the full brunt of the law come down on somebody who charges $10 a bottle to bring it to a disaster relief area.

Because the details of how it happens are important. There's a difference between system price gouging by large companies who make tens of millions of dollars from doing so and some random guy making a few hundred bucks because he went out of state and brought water on his truck. If Kroger decided to make its 30 packs of water 100 dollars before a massive storm I'd have a problem with it.

Again, nuanced view, try thinking in more than 2 dimensions.

But it's not Kroger doing the scalping of GPUs. It's much smaller operations. You seem to have an issue with it because you perceive the water issue as being done by the little guy, and the GPU issue being done by the big guys, even though the GPU issue is being done by regular dudes with scalper discord groups. They do this on tons of products and they aren't massive companies.

Correction: Some might be companies doing these things, but plenty are little guys on discord. It's not that hard to code a web scraping bot and set alerts for GPUs coming in stock. Even if we got rid of all of the companies of scalpers doing these things, it wouldn't change much.

I'm not talking about the guy that purchased 3 video cards to flip two of them on e.ba.y

MSI subsidiary is not a little guy. Amazon vendors are not little guys, these are companies that purchased bulk using automated ways before most retail consumers even saw the product drop.

I'm familiar with that event, and that's an isolated incident. Venders enforce their rules against scalping with their subsidiaries.

Most of the scalping you're seeing is little guys on discord with home-coded web scraping bots. Some of them are big companies securing big orders, but that's far from the whole market.

I bought a prebuild last year. Got a beast for 3k. Was mocked bigtime for it. Went back to some of those people and asked them whose laughing now? Got zero responses of course.

If you can find a decent prebuilt, get it.

Absolutely. Got a prebuilt with a Ryzen 5 and a 3060 Ti for my mother in law for like 1500. It was only about 50 dollars more than if I bought all the parts and built it myself, and it had a pre-installed water loop which is well worth that 50 dollars.

I thought I made it clear how it's different. It's like you're incapable of having a discussion without personalizing an argument.

In one case scalpers are using automated bots to clear out the shelves on a massive scale, in the other case a random guy spends a few grand to buy water and drive to a disaster area. Are you really this unnuanced to see the difference?
