You do touch on an interesting point though: even if we control for female representation in the respective field, men still tend to be overrepresented in professions, and then again among the upper echelons of the respective profession, when "brilliance" is rewarded, like e.g. scientists, artists or inventors. Kind of a shitty example. If I'm a seal and I get wounded in an operation, I think I like my chances better with a 240lb 6 foot male versus a 140lb 5 7 female carrying me to safety.

Being a seal is much more than just being an excellent shot. The amount of gear they have to carry alone is enough to make women, who are generally smaller and weaker less optimal candidates. Definitely not the profession for women to make progress in lol.
