the decision from italy (not the EU) is the first time that control mechanism (here's where the EU comes in) was used. so the blocking was done by italian officials, not EU officials. i know it's a bit complicated, and you probably don't care much who exactly is responsible, i just wanted to point out that there's a difference...

The EU are having a poor vaccine rollout so are spitefully holding up the shipments for countries that got their supply chains and agreements in principle with manufacturers sorted way earlier

Attempting to bully countries smaller than them is a speciality they have really honed over the years

The European Commission has the power to object to the move and they didn't. Also, the law was recently created by the EU, so to frame this as purely down to the Italians is rather obtuse

It's not complicated at all. The EU council is made up of member state politicians.
Of which Italy is a member state.

The right to seize shipments of vaccines is a power given by the EU council. Very recently, when they realised other nations had beaten them to the punch for vaccines.

Claiming that the EU bodies are not responsible would be a strawman at best and illogical at worst.

I live 30 mins from Dublin, and it's dogshit.
I go to Dublin once a year, if I really have no way of avoiding it.
Been to Barcelona, Madrid, Amsterdam, Rome, Venice, Zagred, Sarajevo, Beograd, Bremen, Munich, Hamburg, Copenhagen, Ljubljana, Prague, Budapest and tons of small towns in Europe, and I'd chose any of them over Dublin.
It's nothing but a nest for junkies and homeless junkies.

In no European city will you see that amount of drugged monkeys sleeping on streets with needles next to them in the middle of the day.

no one is claiming that EU bodies are not responsible for the legislation that allowed italy to block those exports, i even made it a point to explain to you where exactly the EU comes in here, in one of my previous post. all i'm saying is that your claim that EU officials were blocking the shipment is false. the decision to do so is up to the member state, and italian officials were the ones who made it.
i really don't know why you're struggling with that distinction so much, if it's just ego protection, not wanting to admit you made a small mistake, or if you genuinely don't get it. if it's the latter, just lmk, i'll be happy to explain it in more detail if you specify what exactly you don't get.
