When did anyone say attempting to adhere to an objective sense of morality (despite how flawed it may be) is evil?

Literally nobody. It's a caricature he's created so he doesnt have to listen
Adherents to radical secularism, anti-christians, and other critics of those who claim that objective moral truth is innate and not relative, i.e. post-modernists, most trans-humanists, and neoliberals.
For example, christian texts say that sleeping with a member of the same sex is a crime against God and nature. Now most wouldn’t argue that one should be punished for doing it. In the same way, one wouldn’t necessarily be punished for lying or violating any other commandment, unless it’s also a crime according to government laws. However, the mere belief that it is a sin is considered homophobic, and thus evil, by a group of moral relativists. There are many other examples as well.
