you can't read a simple article that lays out how the trump plan now increases taxes?
Or remember this EXACT thing was talked about when it passed.

He's saying if you want taxes to be higher you can pay it yourself.

because he's an idiot.

i see, well does anyone know why democrats and republicans both agree on this? it really just seems like some bs establishment shit built to hold the common person down.

Did you mean greater than 75k? I'd think raising taxes on people making less than 75k wouldnt be popular

click the link and youll see taxes are being raised on those making <75k. i agree with your last part, id think it wouldnt be popular either yet here we see both Red and Blue agreeing on it.

I guess nobody red pilled can read this part.

President Trump and his congressional allies hoodwinked us. The law they passed initially lowered taxes for most Americans, but it built in automatic, stepped tax increases every two years that begin in 2021 and that by 2027 would affect nearly everyone but people at the top of the economic hierarchy. All taxpayer income groups with incomes of $75,000 and under — that’s about 65 percent of taxpayers — will face a higher tax rate in 2027 than in 2019.

He cut taxes for basically everybody, with the greatest being at the top. Then set those under 75k to expire after 4 years. The ones above 75k were permanent.

Basically Trump bought votes with tax cuts but only made it permanent for the most wealthy.

i mentioned the democratic controlled congress though. isnt EO only for biden? im not exactly fluent in government but i thought congress could totally undo this. and biden could just use his voice to highlite the issue.

??

Biden can certainly encourage Congress to take it up, and he would be able to sign any passed legislation to that effect, but tax and spending bills can't be created by executive order. Those are Constitutionally required to go through Congress, and be initiated in the House.

tax in question: https://www.nytimes.com/2020/10/31/opinion/republicans-biden-taxes.html

so trump raised taxes on those making <75k/year effective at some points during the Biden Admin.

why can't biden or the democratic controlled congress revert this? also why is neither side talking about this? blues hate trump and reds should hate raised taxes.

really wish sanders won, its all just one big establishment built to fuck over the common person or is there something im misunderstanding?

Taxes fell for people with income under 75K.

The problem is that Democratic states have higher state income taxes, so people in Democratic states end up paying higher taxes.

IIRC, the #1 benefit of the tax plan was the doubling of the Standard Deduction. Correct me if I'm wrong, but that's not set to revert back to it's former levels, right?

I think some of the <$75K number is misleading. Those in the $25-40K bracket will gain from the Standard Deduction change as long as it doesn't revert. The lower working class is gold, it's the middle working class that is reliant on Congress extending cuts under Biden.

Just FYI this is an opinion piece by a hyper-partisan leftist propagandist. His claims and 'facts' should be independently verified.

Yeah this is an important point. The Trump Tax plan enacted tax cuts for broad swaths of Americans, but much of it is set expire at some point. Extending the middle class tax cuts is common and was an expected consideration.
Biden explicitly said he wants to repeal the Trump tax cuts.

The democrats favor heavy tax increases. This anti-tax orange man bad facade is dishonest political posturing.
There is nothing stopping them from extending tax cuts or enacting new ones, but that is not the policy they want to pursue.

important points got the rando multi op and the usual suspects mad at the facts

if you want to pay more taxes there is a line on your W2 where you can specify to pay an additional amount. dont claim any refund and job done

I’d love to pay more taxes in exchange for a massively reduced monthly insurance cost.
